Configure DicomProxy

Getting Started

Open the DicomProxy GUI**. Go to File->Config to open the Dicom Proxy Configuration page. The user will need to provide information in each of the following sections:

  1. Server Options
  2. iPACS Servers
  3. DICOM Peers
  4. Projects
  5. Confirm Configuration

**The DicomProxy can also be set up on the iPACS server itself. Please contact an inviCRO customer service representative for more information.

Server Options

Required Information Description
TCP/IP Port Port used to connect to the DicomProxy from a DICOM peer. This information should be provided by the system administrator.
Max Associations Allows user to specify maximum number of concurrent DICOM peer associations.
Autostart If checked, application will launch on computer login.

iPACS Servers

Required Information/ Icon use Description
Address URL or IP address of iPACS Server.
Username/Password User's iPACS username and password.
Saves the provided iPACS address and username/password and adds it to the drop down list for future use. The user must save an address in order to establish connection.
Removes a selected iPACS address and username/password from the drop down list.

DICOM Peers

Required Information / Icon Use Description
AET Calling AET when sending from local DICOM Peer to iPACS. The AET is the DICOM Application Entity Title which uniquely identifies a DICOM service or application on a specific system in the network.
Address IP address of local DICOM peer. Usually the address is "localhost" for DICOM peers that share the same machine as the iPACS.
PORT TCP port of local DICOM peer.
Saves the provided AET and IP address and adds it to the drop down list for future use. The user must save an AET/address in order to establish connection.
Removes a selected AET/address from the drop down list.

The AET, IP address, and port information can be found within the DICOM peer settings page. If having trouble locating this information, please contact your IT representative.

Projects

Required Information / Icon Use Description
Local AET Called AET when sending from local DICOM Peer to iPACS. Maps to specified iPACS folder.
iPACS Project The iPACS project can be chosen from the drop down list of projects. Hit the refresh button, , to populate the drop down list with projects from the provided iPACS address.
Combines the configuration information provided/selected from each section to the list of available DICOM peer-to-iPACS connections for future use.
Removes the selected configuration information from the list.

Confirm Configuration

Confirm the provided establishments of or modifications to a configuration by clicking on the 'OK' button at the bottom of the configuration window. Click 'Cancel' to avoid saving any changes made.
